The Windows Subsystem for Linux lets developers run a Linux environment on Windows like command-line tools, utilities, and applications directly on Windows, unmodified, without the overhead of a traditional virtual machine or dual boot setup. WSL 2 provides improvements to file system sharing, boot time and allows access to some cool new features for Docker Desktop users.
